Congratulations!

Congrats and a big thanks to John Hempel, AKA "The Melbourne Hat TD" who came through with a late bid of $800 to win himself the shirt.

We will get in contact with John and organise for the delivery of the shirt.

Stacy and Mike have been really excited to see the interest this has provoked and appreciate the support.

Cheers,

Jonno.

Crocs Shirt Auction for Stacy and Mike

Many of you would know that in July 2009 the Australian ultimate team "The Crocs" travelled to Kaohsiung, Taiwan to compete at the 2009 World Games.  After some epic games in an amazing stadium the Crocs finished 3rd place, taking out the Bronze medal, and Spirit Prize as well.

Mike Neild, one of the finest athletes Australian ultimate has produced, was a member of the Crocs.  His wife Stacy is a true champion.  Sure, she's American, but she's from Montana ... kind of like the Queensland of America - only with much more snow and moose.  Together they are an amazing couple.  As a team, the Crocs decided that a great way for us to help Stacy and Mike as they face the challenges of Stacy's diagnosis with MND was to auction a shirt from World Games and donate the proceeds to the fund organised in conjunction with the Big Sky 9s tournament.

The shirt is an official World Games shirt, has the full team and coaches signatures printed onto the shirt, and is being professionally framed.

We have decided to run the auction through this blog site so that we can maximise the number of people involved and not pay a fee to a site like ebay - all money from the winning bid will go to Stacy and Mike's fund.  To place a bid, simply write the amount you would like to bid in the comments section below and leave your name.

The auction will close at 8pm AEST WEDNESDAY 28th OCTOBER (unless a massive bid comes in just after the time in which case I reserve the right to make an executive decision to accept said massive bid). This is so we have time to organise the funds as part of the tournament and for the delivery of the shirt to the winning bidder.

As Tony Greig would surely say "this is a once in a life-time piece of sporting memorabilia" and all proceeds are going to a great cause - so get bidding folks!

TO MAKE A BID:

Just click on the "comments" button below this post and put in a bid - it's as easy as that.  Please leave your name after your bid.

The winner will be posted on this blog on Thursday 29th Oct. and I will contact the winner to organise for the payment of the final price into Stacy and Mike's fund.

Any questions?  Please feel free to contact me at mrfrisbee@hotmail.com

Many thanks for your support,

Jonno Holmes - on behalf of the 2009 Australian Crocs.
